About
Andrea Winters Morelos

Andrea was raised in Burlington, Vermont and then relocated down south to attend North Carolina State University. There she obtained a B.A. in Political Science, with a concentration in Law & Political Philosophy. She graduated cum laude and was on the Dean’s List as well as in the Golden Key National Honor Society.

Andrea has always had a strong interest in helping people, representing individuals’ rights, and fighting hard for justice. During law school, Andrea interned with law firms where she assisted with civil rights, and employment discrimination cases, as well as helping inmates across North Carolina with tort claims and post-conviction claims. Andrea received a certificate from the NC State Bar Association for completing 100 hours of pro bono service upon graduation.

After obtaining her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law, Andrea began her legal career in general litigation and real estate. Shortly thereafter, she expanded into employment discrimination and mainly family law, where she excelled at settling the majority of her cases out of court through general negotiations as well as formal mediations. In 2015, she started also handling personal injury cases, as yet another way to help people going through difficult, confusing events. Andrea now focuses solely on personal injury matters as she enters her 20th year of practice.

Andrea also makes time to give back to the community. Since 2004, Andrea has been volunteering for UNC Law School’s Community Legal Project, which offers free legal assistance through the Compass Center for Women and Families in Chapel Hill. For over 12 years she participated in the Lawyer Referral Service, a program sponsored by the North Carolina Bar Association. Finally, she happily donates a full day once a year to the North Carolina Bar Association’s 4ALL Statewide Service Day, where attorneys throughout North Carolina answer phone calls all day, providing free legal information and referral resources for various areas of law.

When not battling against insurance companies and at-fault drivers for her clients, Andrea loves spending time with her son, cardio dance classes, and listening to music.
