On March 29, 2014, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association announced its recently elected officers and board members for the 2014–15 year at the organization’s Annual Convention, hosted at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.
The association announced its new president, president-elect, vice presidents, treasurer and parliamentarian. In addition, 15 state governors at large were announced.
Sixteen board members were also elected chairpersons of Virginia’s 13 district boards of governors, which represent different parts of the state. Elected as Chairman of Virginia’s First District Board of Governors is Donald W. Marcari, of the prominent personal injury law firm Marcari, Russotto, Spencer & Balaban.
Mr. Marcari has been serving clients throughout Virginia, North Carolina since 1985. He first gained national attention when his work with the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps inspired the acclaimed film, “A Few Good Men.” While Mr. Marcari primarily focuses on plaintiff personal injury law and civil litigation, he also handles veteran benefits claims and continues to defend select military service members in administrative proceedings and courts martial. He has participated in more than 200 jury trials, which include cases against major companies like Ford, American Honda and Firestone.
Don Marcari received his law degree from the Campbell University School of Law and has received numerous awards throughout his distinguished career. This includes being named a Virginia Super Lawyer and inclusion on the list of top 100 trial lawyers by the VTLA. He is also active in his community, volunteering his time and effort to a number of local causes.
