About
Travis Hilka
Growing up in Spartanburg, SC since the age of two, Travis considers himself a native to the area and by-product of the Spartanburg County School System. Between Spartanburg and Charleston, Travis has lived his entire life in South Carolina. A graduate of the College of Charleston (2000) and the Charleston School of Law (2007), Travis has always considered Charleston to be his second home. Now residing in Indian Land and working from the Charlotte office, Travis is still a resident of South Carolina.
Travis has spent his entire legal career passionately representing his clients and truly cares and respects each client for the individuals they are and fundamentally understands how taxing the litigation process can be on them. Travis appreciates that each one of his clients may only have one litigious matter in a lifetime, which tends to occupy all of their time and thoughts. Travis’ goal is to remove much of the anxiety from the litigation process through adequate communication and preparation, so the client is as informed and comfortable as possible.
Travis has a wide range of knowledge and experience in various disciplines of law within the South Carolina and North Carolina County systems. With Marcari, Russotto, Spencer and Balaban, he can implement his experiences to seek justice for those who have been injured. Travis enjoys and thrives on advocating for “the little guy” in the face of those with much greater power and to hold those individuals or corporations accountable for their actions.
Travis has represented clients for wrongful death, product liability, negligence, malicious prosecution, negligent supervision as a well as various criminal, domestic relations and business-related matters.
When not preparing cases for trial, Travis spends his time either outdoors or creating art. He is an avid backpacker, bike rider, hunter and hiker and can be found deep in the Western North Carolina mountains on the weekends. He also finds time to work on creative writing projects and visual art projects such as painting and photography.
