Nathan Bordegaray


Nathan is a trial attorney with over 10 years’ experience. Nathan has tried 19 jury trials to verdict. After representing insurance companies and their insureds for the first 8 years of his career, Nathan joined Marcari, Russotto, Spencer & Balaban in October 2020 to represent clients injured by the negligence of others. Nathan has recovered millions of dollars for his clients through settlement, mediation, arbitration, and trials. Nathan brings his insight into how insurance companies operate and evaluate claims to get the best results for his clients. Nathan is fluent in Spanish and is proud to have represented many Spanish-speaking clients.

Nathan grew up in New Mexico, a state rich in Hispanic culture and tradition. He obtained a B.A. in Romances Languages and Literatures from the University of Chicago. As an undergraduate, Nathan completed an academic year study abroad in Seville, Spain. Nathan obtained a M.A. in Spanish Literature from the University of Virginia. Nathan taught three undergraduate-level Spanish courses as a graduate student. Nathan spent another year in Spain as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, where he taught English in a bilingual middle school near Madrid. Upon returning to the U.S., Nathan worked in the public relations field for two years before attending law school. Nathan attended law school at the University of Arizona. As a law student, he was the productions editor for the Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law and a recipient of the Outstanding Performance in Legal Writing Award. Nathan began his legal career representing large insurance carriers as an associate at an insurance defense firm and as a staff attorney for Geico.

Nathan lives in Virginia Beach with his wife and two children. In his free time, Nathan enjoys fishing, backpacking the Appalachian Trail, cooking, and watching Spanish soccer.
